Elbert Cleve Humphres, 93, of Vina, died Friday, June 1, 1990, in Florence. He was a native of Franklin County, a member of the Good Spring Freewill Baptist Church and a retired farmer. Services were held Sunday, June 3, at the Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay with the Rev. Ronald Watson and the Rev. Jerry Lindsey officiating. Burial followed in the Ebenezer Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, directed. Survivors include three daughters, Gladys Powell of Mantachie, Miss., Imogene McClain of Birmingham and Esterine Blackburn of Aurora, Ill.; five sons, Arlin Humphres of Sheffield, Chester Humphres, Roy Humphres and R.C. Humphres, all of Vina, Wendall Humphres of Valles Mines, MO.; 28 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
