Eva Mae Hammock Rickard went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at the age of 89. She was born September 17, 1934, to Husie and Ettie Hammock in Franklin County, AL. She married Amos Lindbergh Rickard on November 12, 1954, and they were married 51 years prior to his death on July 22, 2005. She was a member of James Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and her selfless love will always be remembered. After her husband passed away, she worked as a Foster Grandparent for several years. When she was unable to do that, her time was spent watching her gospel music, reading the Bible, and working word puzzles.
She is survived by her three children, Sheila Boyd (Bobby), Sherry Bragwell (Dallas), Jeff Rickard (Amy), all of Russellville; grandchildren, Nick Boyd, Sonny Boyd (Jana), Robbie Boyd, Crystal McCollum (Chris), Lexie Sherrill (Caleb), Mason Bragwell (Laynee McGee fiancé); great-grandchildren, Peyton Boyd, Lindley Boyd, Eli Boyd, Tyde Boyd, Caden McCollum, Casey McCollum, baby Eva Mae Sherrill expected in August; a host of nieces & nephews; and also, her fur baby, Precious.
She was predeceased by her husband Amos Lindbergh Rickard, her parents, Husie and Ettie Hammock and brothers and sisters, Annie Lou Bange, Thelton Hammock, James Hammock, Raymond Hammock, Ruth Hardin, and Gerald Hammock.
Visitation will be 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 01, 2024 @ Spry Memorial Chapel. A graveside service will be immediately following at 11:00 a.m. at James Chapel Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Dallas Bragwell, Mason Bragwell, Caleb Sherrill, Bobby Boyd, Robbie Boyd, and Sonny Boyd. The honorary pallbearers will be Nick Boyd, Chris McCollum, and Caden McCollum.
