GOLDEN – Albert Boyd Grimes – Loving Father. On Saturday February 24, 2024 at his residence and surrounded by family, Albert Boyd Grimes returned to his Heavenly Father to begin his next project and find that next fishing hole.

He was born June 27, 1941, in Prentiss County, Mississippi to Robert Jerdon Grimes and Rhoda Maudenia Grimes. A lifelong resident of Golden and Itawamba County, Boyd was, above all, a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
To know Boyd was to know a man of innumerable talents, a continual tinkerer capable of fixing anything, and an avid fisherman. A tireless worker, he worked as a plant manager at Bigbee Metal for many years until his retirement, and he was also the owner of Circle G Trailers. Rooted in his faith, Boyd was a member of The Red Bay Church of God, where he listened to his brother Carnie preach many sermons. When he was not on a lake with a reel in his hand, he could be found tinkering with his next project. Boyd loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His wisdom will be greatly missed, but we know his brothers are waiting to show him his next great fishing hole.

Senter Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Senter Funeral Home with a graveside to follow at Dennis Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. on Monday, February 26, at Senter Funeral Home.

Survivors include his beloved wife Mary Grimes; Daughters: Connie (Stephen) Funderburk, Angie (Brad) Norris, Laura Beth (Tyler) Chaney, Michelle (Brad) Black; Grandchildren: Christopher Funderburk, Jake (Kaley) Norris, Candice (Daniel) Funderburk, Kayla (Chase) Norris, Dakota Black, Dawson Black, Paige Black, Gage Black, Fletcher Chaney, Clayton Chaney, Mary Alice Chaney; Great-grandchildren: Avery Claire Funderburk, Marcie Mize Bogue, and soon-to-be-born Eliza Gray Norris; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Robert Shelton Grimes, Carnie Eugene Grimes, Silas Earl Grimes; his sisters Jewel Bernice Grimes Sides, Eunice Faye Grimes Parker; and his nephew Rick Parker.

Pallbearers will be Jake Norris, Christopher Funderburk, Larry Grimes, Steve Grimes, Tom Grimes, Josh Grimes, Kyle Grimes, and Bobby Parker. Honorary pallbearers will be Mackey Wade, Mike Grissom, Mike Klein, Tim Grimes, Steven Grimes, Noah Grimes, Tristan Johnson, Jason Parker, Jody Parker, Andy Deaton, and Joel Carranza.
