Deborah Lynn Johnson, 64, passed away at the Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, Ala., on March 27, 2023. She was born September 24, 1958, to Burford Wooten and Yvonne Moore Wooten in Chattanooga, Tenn. Deborah worked and retired from Magnolia Bay Furniture for 45 years. In 1986 she also worked as an Interior Designer. She was the lead singer for “Heaven’s Mountain Band” and attended Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Ripley, Miss.
Deborah is survived by her husband of 49 years, Roger Johnson of Golden; one son – Rodney Johnson (Stacy) of Red Bay; one daughter – Tina Hester (Adam) of Vina; three brothers – Stephen Wooten, Tim Wooten, George Wooten, all of Rainsville, Ala.; three sisters – Joann Wooten of Chattanooga, Tenn., Teresa Veal of Rainsville, Ala., and Priscille Padgett of Fyffe, Ala.; seven grandchildren – Gavin Johnson of Red Bay, Tori Young of Tishomingo, Dylan Hester of Vina, Seth Johnson, Ashton Johnson both of Red Bay, Noah Hester and Ty Hester both of Vina; three great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Mike Wooten; one sister, Kathy Johnson.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at Mt Olive Baptist Church, 771 CR 540, Ripley, Miss. Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m., with the service following. McBride Funeral Home of Ripley is in charge of arrangements.
