RED BAY, AL – Mr. Omer Thrasher went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, November 22, 2022. Born Omer Timothy Thrasher in March 1932 in Belmont, MS, he was proceeded in death by his spouse of 64 years, Jackie Thrasher; Son, David Thrasher; Parents, Cim and Leora Thrasher and eight siblings.
Survivors include Daughter, Deborah Thrasher Miller, Son, Jason Thrasher; Grandchildren, Chase & Jenni Miller, Katti & Jonathon Lindley; Great Grandchildren, Tate Miller, Knox Miller, Hayes Lindley and Rush Lindley; Sister, Ruth Griffus; Caregivers, Carol Murray, Amy Davis and Brandy Franks.
Mr. Thrasher was married for 64 years and lived in Red Bay, Alabama where he owned and operated a garage for 40 years, farmed and raised cattle, raised hound dogs and enjoyed the farm life with Ms. Jackie. He was a member of Bethel Church of God and a veteran of the US Navy. Prior to death Mr. Thrasher was provided exceptional care by Carol Murray, Amy Davis, Brandy Franks and Southern Care New Beacon.
Home going Services will be held Sunday, November 27, 2022, at Deaton Funeral Home in Red Bay, AL. Visitation will be from 1-2 PM, followed by the service at 2 PM. Dr. Nathan Carroll will officiate. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Golden, MS with Deaton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pall Bearers will be Chase Miller, Jonathon Lindley, David Miller, Donald Thrasher, Jerry Thrasher and Kerry Thrasher.
