GOLDEN, MS. – Charles “Tee” Erastus Kent, 77, died Thursday, July 16, 2015 at his residence. He was born in Itawamba County, Ms. and was retired from Sunshine Mills after 25 years. He was owner of Kent’s Discount Furniture for 27 years and was a faithful attendant at Cornerstone Church of God.
Services will be Saturday, July 18, at 4 p.m. at Cornerstone Church of God, Red Bay, Al. with Bro. Rick Bradley and Bro. Gary Puckett officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery, Golden, Ms. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Al. will be in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are his wife – Barbara Hutcheson Kent; one son – Larry Kent and wife, Carol Kent; one daughter – Rena’ Palmer and husband, Donny Palmer; five grandchildren – Daryl Kent, Hayli Kent, Devan Hurst, Alexander Huffman and Christopher Huffman and wife, Greta Huffman; three step-grandchildren – Kayla, Victoria and Danielle; three step-great-grandchildren; one brother – Hermon Kent and wife, Berdie Kent of Golden, Ms.; one sister-in-law – Mattie Belle Kent, Chebanse, Il. and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Kent and Ollie Stockton Kent, one brother, Lorn Kent, two sisters, Vara Lee Holland and husband, I.C. Holland and Charlene Pharr and husband, Basil Pharr and a son-in-law, Terry Hurst.
Pallbearers will be Daryl Kent, Chris Huffman, Alex Huffman, Devan Hurst, Chad Nichols and Mark Brumley.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 18, 12-4 p.m. at Cornerstone Church of God.
