Dock L. Stanphill, 93, died Saturday, July 30, 1988, at the Veteran’s Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. He was a retired farmer, a veteran of World War I, a member of the American Legion Post 51, a member of the Fairview Masonic Lodge and a member of Primitive Baptist Church.
Services were Monday, Aug. 1, 1988, at Mt. Carmel Church with the Rev. Ronnie Stockdale officiating. Burial was in Bounds Cemetery. McNecce-Morris Funeral Home in Fulton, Miss., was in charge of the services.
Survivors include his five daughters, Glonia Harbin and Lillian Turner, both of Golden, Miss., and Margaret Parker and Donna Duncan, both of Southhaven, Miss., and Brenda Hamm of Glencoe; four sons, Wiley Stanphill of Golden, Miss., Doug Stanphill of Tremont, Miss., Archie Stanphill of Columbus, Miss, and Thomas Stanphill of Southaven, Miss.; three sisters, Alice Moxley of Cleveland, Tenn., Ethel Shook of Waterloo and Gertie Mills of Red Bay; 34 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.Pallbearers were members of the American Legion Post 51.
