RED BAY | The Bay Tree Council for the Performing Arts will hold auditions Sept. 20-21 for its first production of the 2026-2027 season, Neil Simon’s classic comedy “The Odd Couple.”
Auditions will be held Sunday, Sept. 20, at 2 p.m. and Monday, Sept. 21, at 7 p.m. at the Weatherford Center in Red Bay. The production will be directed by Mark Richardson.
Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. The cast calls for six adult men and two adult women.
“The Odd Couple” tells the story of two recently separated friends who discover that sharing an apartment may put their friendship to the ultimate test.
Oscar Madison is a carefree slob whose untidy apartment serves as the setting for regular card games with his friends. Felix Ungar, meanwhile, is fastidious, particular and distraught over the breakup of his marriage.
When Oscar invites Felix to move in with him, their drastically different personalities and housekeeping habits quickly clash, producing the hilarious situations that have made “The Odd Couple” one of Simon’s best-known comedies.
Performances are scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 10, and Thursday through Sunday, Nov. 12-15, at the Weatherford Center.
