GOLDEN, MS – Michael Larry Palmer, 73, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at North Mississippi Medical Center- Tupelo. He was born in Franklin County, AL. He was retired from Mueller in Fulton after 53 years with almost perfect attendance.
Funeral service will be Saturday, August 15, 2026, 2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL with Bro. Kevin Palmer officiating. Visitation will be Friday, August 14, 2026 from 5-8 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his daughter, Stacey Jones (David); one son, Matthew Palmer; six grandchildren, Nathaniel Swinford, Dawson Jones, Dalton Jones, Devin Jones, Dakota Jones and Gracie Jones; three sisters, Sandra Palmer (Karl), Nancy Elrod and Brenda Reese; two brothers, Terry Gann (Gail) and Leroy Gann (Brenda); and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eules Veto and Birda Mae Griffus Gann; his father, James Palmer; two sisters, Shirley Patterson and Betty Barnett; and three brothers, Phillip Palmer, Johnny Gann and Charles Gann.
