Bond revoked for Vina man over new texts to minor

Jonathan “Randy” Lowery

RUSSELLVILLE | Bond was revoked Wednesday for Jonathan “Randy” Lowery, 39, following revelations he allegedly violated terms of the bond by having impermissible contact with a minor.

Lowery remains behind bars at the Franklin County Jail awaiting a hearing Monday, Aug. 3. He is accused now of messaging a 17-year-old girl – and continuing to exchange messages with her even after he learned her age and told her he wasn’t supposed “to hang” with anyone under the age of 18.

The Franklin County District Attorney’s office filed the motion to revoke Lowery’s bond after the allegations came to light. He was out on bond from a September 2025 indictment charging him with Electronic Solicitation of a Child after he allegedly was sending “sexually inappropriate messages” to a 15-year-old female, including allegedly attempting to set up a meeting for illicit purposes. He was also charged with Possession of Prohibited Liquor at that time, and his trial on those charges is scheduled for later this year.

Lowery surrendered himself to the Franklin County Jail on July 29. While the latest messages were not sexual in nature, the Franklin County District Attorney’s office sought the revocation after it was reported he had been messaging a 16-yer-old girl as recently as July 13. The motion to revoke Lowery’s bond was filed July 27.
