BELMONT, MS. – John Michael Schultz, 24, gained his complete healing surrounded by his family on Friday, August 5, 2016. Born to Randy and Renee Schultz on May 20, 1992 in Northport, Al., John came to Belmont at the age of eight and considered this to be his home.

John once ended a devotional he wrote on a mission trip to Puerto Rico with “So make sure you don’t leave here asking the question ‘Could I have done more?’ Leave here knowing you’ve done all you can do!” These are words he lived by. Whether he was playing sports, on missionary trips, or spending time with his family he gave his all. One of his favorite scriptures was “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Phil. 4:13. He loved to hunt, fish, hike and spend as much time outdoors as possible. Equally as important to him were church activities and mission trips. He was a member of Dennis United Methodist Church.

He leaves behind his parents – Randy and Renee Schultz; his sister – Jessica Bostick and her husband, Ryan; two nieces – Calliana and Rylan; one nephew – Paxton; his paternal grandparents – Linley Jr. and Ruth Schultz; numerous aunt, uncles and cousins and the most loving and caring church family.

Among loved ones waiting to greet him in heaven are his maternal grandparents, John and Alice Clay.

Funeral services will be on Sunday, August 7, at 2 p.m. at Dennis United Methodist Church with Bro. Nathan Hodum and Bro. Tim Hankins officiating. Burial was in Belmont City Cemetery, Belmont, Ms. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, Ms. will be in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Wesley Brandon, Toby Brandon, Danny Brandon, Kasey Clay, Nathan Bostick, Brett Williams, Lance Pardue and Skylar Maxwell.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt special thanks for those who have aided in John’s care, Dr. Nathan Baldwin, Mary Ann Martin, Dr. Wayne Furman, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, especially the D Clinic for their special care and treatment of John, and Dr. Jeremiah Deneve. Special thanks to Lynn Kennedy with Legacy Hospice for her care and love.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 6, 6-9 p.m. at Dennis United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dennis First United Methodist Church, Youth Ministry Fund, P.O. Box 189, Dennis, Ms. 38838.
