Thurman Creekmore, 61, of Vina died Friday, January 18, at Red Bay Hospital. He was a native of Alabama, retired from American Motors Co. and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Services were held Sunday, January 20, at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Red Bay, with the Rev. Coye Marbutt and Rev. Jim Hammock officiating. Burial followed in the adjoining cemetery with Deaton Funeral Home directing. Survivors include his wife, Mary Creekmore of Vina; one son, Lowell N. Wallace of Vina; three daughters, Joye Lindsey of Atlanta, GA., Teressa Marshall of St. Paul, Minn., and Linda Ekern of Kenosha, Wis.; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Creekmore, Carlos Creekmore, Larry Creekmore, all of Red Bay, and Danny Ray Creekmore of Vina; five sisters, Evonne singleton and Icy Parker, both of Red Bay, Bobbie Petty of Smithville, MS., Elsie Singleton of Vina, Betty Sue Stanphill of Fulton, MS.; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
