Houston Mitchell, age 82, of Rt. 1 Red Bay was dead on arrival Saturday, March 7, at 6:30 a.m. at the Northeast Mississippi Hospital in Booneville, Miss.
Mr. Mitchell was a native of Alabama, a retired farmer, and a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 9, at 3:30 p.m. from the Ebenezer Baptist Church with Rev. Earl Humphres and Rev. Enis Singleton officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with Dean Deaton Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Corene Burks, Mrs. Hessie Humphres, Mrs. Dessie Robinson all of Red Bay, Mrs. Exie Holcomb of Booneville, Miss., one sister, Mrs. Maga Funderburk of Trimble, Tenn., 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Arlis Burks, Jerry Burks, Johnnie Burks, James Holcomb, Carlos Robinson and Wade Humphres.
